Starting this morning, the Visa Mobile Application became available on the Android Market. We’re pretty excited because it’s the first financial application for Android from a “heavy hitter” and it offers some great features of which at the moment, only select Chase Visa card holders can take advantage.

The applications offers many different things.

Advertisers now have a real option for advertising on the iPhone, G1 (Android), and other HTML mobile phones.  You can show either normal desktop ads or special ads for your mobile site.  We’ll let Google explain it for ya:

Earlier in the week Chinese manufacturer Qigi announced the upcoming release of their first Google Android powered handset, the i6.

Amazingly, one of the features early Android adopters had to go without was Exchange syncing.  However, last week NitroDesk rolled out TouchDown, “the world’s first on-the-phone solution for accessing your Exchange Server email, contacts and calendar on Android-powered handsets.”

Well, Apple has been hemmin’ and hawin’ for a long time now.. saying Adobe’s Flash won’t work, blah blah… now Adobe has taken the opportunity to teach Steve Jobs and crew a lesson or two.  This morning they demo’d Flash on the Android platform using a T-Mobile G1.

So what’s up now Apple?  What’s the excuse?  We want Flash!

It appears that Tapulous, the developers of the popular iPhone applications such as Tap Tap Revenge, Twinkle, Fortune and now Collage, are eyeballing the Android platform for a port of Tap Tap Revenge.  A comment by a developer on their forums suggests that they’re considering it.

Will Android users be tapping soon?  Only time will tell.

Today PhoneFusion announced their upcoming Fusion Voicemail Plus application that will bring visual voicemail to the G1 handset.

This free Android application will allow G1 users to centralize all of their voicemail boxes and to visualize all of their voicemail messages direct from the handsets screen.

The service will also enable users to listen to their voicemails directly from the handset.

Just as previously rumored, the T-Mobile G1 is now in Wal-Mart.  However, reports of the $149.99 price tag weren’t accurrate as the price is $179.99 with a 2 year contract.  Despite the higher price, the Wal-Mart distribution should definitely help G1 sales nationwide.
